I am a 29 year old mature student who is in my final year of BA (Hons) Classical Studies. Prior to joining Newcastle University, I worked as an operations manager in call centres throughout the North-East for 10 years. I attended Central Newcastle High School in Jesmond and achieved 10 GCSEs A-C (including Latin) and 3 A-Levels in Classics; English Literature and General Studies with ABD grades respectively. I am currently writing my dissertation on 'The Delphic Oracle: true prophet or political architect of the ancient world?'
Experience
Prior to joining Newcastle University, I worked as an operations manager in call centres throughout the North-East for 10 years. I have conducted numerous training sessions with new employees aging from 16 to 60 and I am very patient. I have also been involved with recruitment and in back-to-work schemes such as Working Links and assisted school leavers in acquiring the neccessary skills to obtain their first jobs. After university I attend to commence a PGCE in English and commence teaching. I was home schooled as a child until the age of 11 when I attended Central Newcastle High School in Jesmond so I understand from a first hand perspective how to get the best from a pupil in a 1 on 1 study session. I also have a clean enhanced disclosure (CRB) from Disclosure Scotland.
